1. THE GLOBE The Globe theater has a rich history, and here on your trip to London, you can visit the reconstructed Globe today! The video to the right will walk you through the theater and fill you in on all of the behind the scenes details you'll need to know to be a Globe expert. After watching the video, write the answer to the following question:

2. Costuming at The Globe During Shakespeare's time, women were not permitted to be actors in plays. It was considered crude and the playhouses were meant for men and "other" kinds of entertainment. In the video, the costume director explains how certain clothing items were used to dress younger boys that were playing the girls.

6. It's Tea Time!
Londoners and other English folks are well known for their love of tea. There's actually a special time of the day dedicated to drinking tea called "high tea". This tradition has been along for a long time - including Shakespeare's day!
When we are talking about Shakespeare's TIME, we are talking about the ELIZABETHAN ERA (aka during the reign of Queen Elizabeth I). She was a powerful, persuasive leader who appreciated and supported the arts, making much of what Shakespeare is famous for possible.
